A l’occasion du lancement de ses nouveaux locaux à Francfort, Allemagne, le mois dernier, le Groupe Sun Resorts a présenté la vision du Groupe et la nouvelle identité du Touessrok aux professionnels de l’industrie et aux membres de la presse spécialisée et généraliste. AIR MAURITIUS AND VIRGIN BLUE AGREE ON
A NEW INTERLINE DEAL

Air Mauritius continues to increase its airline interline partnerships through a new agreement with Virgin Blue. The arrangement smoothes the way for travellers to fly from any Virgin Blue destination in Australia to Sydney, Perth or Melbourne for a seamless connection to Air Mauritius flights.
Air Mauritius will connect with Virgin Blue services from: Adelaide,Canberra, Gold Coast, Mackay, Proserpine,Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Hervey Bay ,Maroochydore, Rockhampton,Broome, Christchurch, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney,Cairns, Darwin, Launceston, Newcastle and Townsville & Perth
Travel agents will also issue a single ticket for both airlines which includes checked through luggage all the way from Australia to Mauritius and vice versa, providing a more convenient travel experience.
The new interline agreement will also mean guests transiting between Sydney T2 domestic and Sydney International Airports will be able to take advantage of a dedicated transfer lounge at Sydney International and a free airside bus transfer between the two terminals.
Air Mauritius operates flights from Mauritius to Perth twice weekly and weekly flights to Sydney and Melbourne. With Perth as its gateway to South Africa, East Africa and Europe, Air Mauritius is already planning to further increase flights in the coming years.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey said, “We are delighted to be working with Air Mauritius to open up this stunning destination to travellers from all over Australia. Having an interline agreement means it is much easier for people to fly from their home in Australia all the way through to Mauritius.”
Air Mauritius Chief Executive Mr Manoj Ujoodha said, “This is an exciting opportunity for us in that it will bring huge benefits to our customers. Air Mauritius, in conjunction with Virgin Blue, will now be able to bring Australian inbound passengers from Mauritius, Europe, South Africa and East Africa to the major cities in Australia. Alternatively, Australian customers will be able to enjoy a seamless transfer from various Australian cities to connect on to Air Mauritius flights via Perth.”
AIR MAURITIUS STRIKES AGREEMENT WITH
MAURITIAN PILOTS
Air Mauritius and the Mauritius Airline Pilots Association (MALPA) have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the next five years.
“This agreement with MALPA, after the one signed with AEA two weeks ago, puts an end to the dispute that existed with both pilot unions following the expiry of the last MoU’s in May 2004. I am pleased that we have managed to put together a deal that satisfies the loyal Mauritian pilots while ensuring that productivity levels increase in an ever demanding environment.” says Dinesh Burrenchobay, Executive Vice President – Human Resources & Organisational Development.
Executive Vice-President – Flight Operations, Captain Pramil Banymandhub was delighted with the outcome and states: “This will allow our department to focus on increasing our operational efficiency. At the same time, it allows us to maintain our unblemished safety record.”
MALPA President Samad Esoof states, “MALPA is pleased with the signing of this new MoU. We are confident that this will bring stability and smoother running of our Flight Operations especially in these difficult times given the stiff competition we have to deal with. We look forward to working in close collaboration with our Management to take our airline to new heights”
First Anniversary of Airmate
Airmate, a subsidiary of Air Mauritius, celebrates its first year of operations this week. Located at the Cyber Tower 1 at the Cybercity in Ebène, and employing 80 persons, the company provides Business Process Outsourcing and Call Centre Activities to the airline and tourism industries. It currently takes Air Mauritius Reservations and Ticketing calls for Mauritius, Reunion, France and the UK and services Air Mauritius Kestrelflyer
members. Airmate also acts as a service bureau, is engaged in training activities and is an authorized dealer of IT equipment.

C’est ce que le ministre du Tourisme, Xavier-Luc Duval a annoncé lors d’une rencontre avec les principaux tours opérateurs australiens vendant l’île Maurice. Devant le succès de Live in Mauritius 2007, le ministre du Tourisme a exprimé sa volonté de dynamiser « ce marché à fort potentiel pour l’île Maurice »
